Description
One liner
A tactical RPG roguelike deckbuilder with 21 playable heroes, playable solo or in online co-op up to 4 players.
Short description
Crown Control is a tactical roguelike deckbuilder playable solo or in online co-op up to 4 players. Choose one of 21 heroes, level up your class, and play cards to attack, defend, heal, summon allies, place traps, and reshape the terrain in turn based isometric battles, on the road to overthrowing a tyrant king.
Long description
A tyrant king sits on the throne, his generals rule the outer regions, and every road beyond the Breach promises danger, power, and another step closer to the Crown.
Every turn in Crown Control is built around cards, positioning, and party roles. Battles play out on an isometric grid where range matters, chokepoints matter, and even the biggest enemies can occupy multiple cells. Cards come in 8 types: Attacks, Skills, Summons, Powers, Traps, Terrain, Afflictions, and Curses. Summons place fully playable units on the battlefield with their own cards and passives, Traps stay hidden until they trigger, and Terrain reshapes part or all of the battlefield.
Each run unfolds across 5 chapters of 5 acts, each act ending with an Epic rank monster and each chapter with a regional boss. Encounters react to each hero's two alignments, morality and order, and when a choice affects the whole group in co-op, the party votes. Between runs, the Breach serves as home base for equipment, quests, class progression, and long term unlocks across the full roster of 21 heroes.
The game is fully balanced for 1 to 4 heroes, from a lone sword wielder to a full party layering tanks, healers, summons, and battlefield control.
History
Crown Control is developed by Melioarc, a solo developer based in France. The project set out to answer a simple question: what would a run based deckbuilder feel like if its battles had the positioning depth of a classic tactics RPG, and if the whole adventure could be shared online with up to three friends.
The result combines two traditions rarely brought together at this scale by a single developer: the card driven runs of roguelike deckbuilders and the isometric grid combat of tactical RPGs, with 21 classes, around 50 unique personal cards per hero, and full online co-op designed in from the start rather than added on.
Crown Control is planned for release on Steam in Q4 2026, preceded by a co-op demo. Demo saves will be retro compatible, so players in the full game can continue the progression they reached in the demo.
